Living History Re-Enactment Activities
The Order and its Members, are involved in the following to cover its Secondary Purposes:
| Collecting, Verifying, Preserving and Publishing information relating to Medieval History, Arts and Crafts and educating the Public, Teachers and Students of this Historical Information. | |
| Assisting Schools and teachers in teaching students about Medieval History, Arts and Crafts by doing displays and information days at the schools when requested. | |
| Fostering relations with other Orders, Clubs, Bodies and Organisations having similar aims and interests. |
To help us achieve this, the members have a number of activities that they may involve themselves in with the Order. One of those things is Medieval Re-enactment / Living History. The Medieval Re-enactment side of the Order follows and includes a number of things, these being:
Medieval Fighting (involving combat in armour and with steel weapons - both internally and inter-club)
Heraldry ( the use and creation of Heraldic Coat of Arms through History)
Medieval Cooking and Food ( research of types of meals, foods used and making of these reciepies at Medieval Feasts)
Costume Making ( research and documentation of costumes and materials and the production of Medieval clothing of the period the Order recreates)
And other activities involved with the Medieval Period that may arise and interest members.
All of these are done under a structure called the HOUSEHOLD. Each Household is controlled by a Fighter holding the Rank of Knight under the Combat Training Program, and a Grade of Knight within the Order. The Household is run as a Lord's Household would have opperated during the Medieval Period.
Contained in this section of the Order's Site is information about the Household Structure used by the Order for Re-enactment purposes, as well as information on some research topics. Please feel free to take a look.
We would like to make it clear that the Order is NOT PURELY a re-enactment group. It is first and formost an Order involved in carrying out activities, facilities, projects or financial benevolent or Necessitous assistance to those in need within the community or Order and promoting, providing and assisting other worthy charitable causes and projects.
The re-enactment side of the Order is done to provide enjoyment and education for the Members of the Order and Public and to assist us in with our secondary Purposes.
